Stars and Stripes Cloggers made a trip to Schulenburg, Texas. They toured the Painted Churches in Praha, High Hill, Dubina, and Ammannsville. After eating lunch at "The Smokehouse", the group danced to patriotic music at the College Park Assisted Living Center. Pictured above at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ammannsville are Lori, Martha, Marie, Hannah, Susan and the guide, Pat.

Entertaining at Englein Haus in Halletsville
Since returning to practice after the Christmas break, we have been practicing some routines to patriotic music. After practicing on Saturday night, my brother showed me this article about us dancing at the Flip Flop Festival and explaining that we would be dancing in Hallettsville at a program to honor veterans. None of us had seen it!
This poster was in the window of Englein Haus, the Hallettsville Cultural Center. My nephews were a bit un-nerved to see their names on it!
After we danced to "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly", "Grand Old Flag", and "Yankee Doodle", the boys played "America the Beautiful"and a drum duet. Then we finished with "Star Spangled Special" and "The Great Defenders".
Marie (Hannah's Mom), Lori, Hannah, Susan (director) and Martha.
Another photo of us with the boys, Willie and Alec.

Spreading Christmas Cheer
Stars and Stripes Cloggers entertained in several local nursing homes the week before Christmas. Top photo is Alec, Elsa, Martha, Valerie, Susan, Willie, and Lori. The three young cloggers in the front row are Therese, Hannah, and Gianna. Alec and Willie performed "Jingle Bells" on keyboard and xylophone. They performed "Little Drummer Boy" with Willie on snare drum and Alec doing vocals.
Not everyone could make it to all the performances. In this photo; Martha, Jackie, Elsa, Lori, Susan with Therese and Hannah in the front holding our new banner.

Stars and Stripes Cloggers joined the Kolache Kloggers once again! We all clogged at the Kolache Festival in Hallettsville, Texas.
Altogether, we danced for an hour. It was very hot and humid. I was soaked by the time we finished.
We are dancing this Saturday at the Calhoun County Fair in Port Lavaca, Texas. Thankfully, the weather has been cooler lately.

Clogging at the Flip Flop Festival
The Stars and Stripes Cloggers joined our "sister" group the Kolache Kloggers and performed at the Port Lavaca Flip Flop Festival on Labor Day weekend. We had a wonderful time clogging and visiting the booths.
Stars and Stripes performed some songs, Kolache Kloggers performed some songs, and we performed some together. This was a move from "All Shook Up".
And "Rosine".
My niece, nicknamed Bug, started clogging in June. She already has two performances to brag about. (along with going to State in swimming.)
We are all dancing "You Can't Take the Texas Out of Me" here.
Here we are all together. Kolache Kloggers are from Halletsville, Texas, famous for its Kolache Festival and Fiddlers Frolic. We will all be performing at the Kolache Festival at the end of September. Both groups provide free clogging lessons! The Kolache Kloggers are Lexy, Marla, Jayde and Kassie (director)
Stars and Strips-Bug, Me, Susan (director), Martha and Skyeleigh.
Me with Bug. Thanks to her Mom, Marie for taking and sharing photos with me.
