What's Happening?

Stars & Stripes Cloggers have been practicing Patriotic theme dances to perform for the local Polka and Waltz Club dance on February 13. We will be performing to Lee Greenwood's "The Great Defenders", Bette Midler's "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", "Star Spangled Special" and "Stormin' Norman".
We will also be dancing at the Mall for the Red Cross Family Safety Event. We haven't decided what the line-up will be.
Anyone wanting to learn to clog is invited to come to Beginner lessons the first Wednesday in March!

Rally Goodies!

Before we left for the Waco Rally, Martha put this on shirts with her embroidery machine!
Susan gave us this T-shirt to wear too!
Besides offering various levels of dances to learn, the Rally also had some awesome vendors! We had to squeeze shopping in with all the dancing!

I bought this one from a vendor at the rally. The business is called "Rhinestones By Design".
Terri Gross does the designs. You can see her many other designs (clogging and other) at
www.rhinestones-by-design.com .

I also found this bottlecap necklace. I don't remember the name of the booth!

Stars & Stripes on the road!

Five members of Stars & Stripes attended the Texas Clogging Council's Waco Rally.
We had a wonderful time learning new steps and dances and shopping the vendors' booths.

By the end of a day of learning dances, we were also a little silly. We decided that what happens at a clogging rally should STAY at a clogging rally, hence identities are being protected to maintain the dignity of the cloggers! haha!
And NO this is NOT a clogging step!

It definitely brought on fits of laughter!

Oops! One is down!

This looks like a crash dummy on a Myth Buster episode!

Stars & Stripes to Waco!

Last year's Clogging Rally in Waco was a blast. The theme was Cinema Dance.
Eunice, Valerie and Faith are taking a break.
Susan and Valerie appear to be looking at the schedule!

Valerie and Faith are joining in a Texas Line Dance.
Four of the Stars & Stripes Cloggers will be leaving for this year's Texas Clogging Rally in Waco, Texas. Of course, I will be taking cameras and hope to get some photos to share. I will have to juggle photography with dancing!

Performing for the Geneological Society

Stars & Stripes Cloggers performed on December 14 for the Geneological Society. The stage made the taps sound great. The audio on these video clips doesn't do it justice.

Eunice performed first to Kevin Fowler's "Senorita Mas Fina".

Next came "Bagpipes" performed by Faith and Lori. Thanks again, Martha, for all of your help with those kilts. Valerie was ill and didn't get to dance with us that evening.

Then Susan danced to "Cry of the Celts".

We finished up with a dance to Kathy Mattea's "Untold Stories". We had a great time!

Performance Preparations!

The three kilts for our trio dance to "Bagpipes" are nearly done with much thanks to Martha for helping me sew on Thursday and Friday evening~!
We will just pin these ribbon "thingys" inside the cuff of our knee socks.

My work table is cluttered with several projects! We have several dances planned. Susan will do a solo to "Cry of the Celts", Eunice will do a solo to "Senorita Mossfina" (I am guessing on that spelling.) Valerie, Faith and I will dance to "Bagpipes". Faith might do a solo to "Fisher's Hornpipe" and four of us will dance to "Untold Stories". We will be dancing for the local Geneological Society.
