Rally Time!

Stars and Stripes Cloggers arrived at the Texas Clogging Council Rally on Friday afternoon ready to dance. Five of Susan's young students attended their first rally.They were so well-behaved and sweet!

The adult dancers had to try out one of the vendor's massage equipment before any dancing! (Linda, Martha, Susan, and Lori)

Workshop-FREE

There will be a workshop on Saturday, January 22 in the Seadrift Elementary Cafeteria. Beginner clogging will be taught by Susan Roberts from 9-12 a.m. and line dancing will be taught by Linda King from 1-4 p.m. No special shoes are needed for beginner clogging. Any shoes that don't slip off easily are fine.

Irish themed show

Stars and Stripes members are currently working on several Irish themed dances for a performance. So far we are learning dances to Fisher's Hornpipe, Cry of the Celts, Irish Stew, The Dragon and A Rag and a Fiddle. Our performance is scheduled for late October.

A touch of Bling

We are currently working on "Fisher's Hornpipe" from the Texas Dance list, along with a group dance to "The Dragon". There is an Irish themed exhibition in our future!
Kassie also taught "Giddy On Up" last week. She did a great job. The dance is lots of fun.

Double Toe Jam!

Five of the Stars & Stripes cloggers went to Waco for the Double Toe Jam Clogging Convention! The theme was "Footloose".

Summer Practice!

Stars and Stripes Cloggers are now at our summer practice site! Twin Pines, a nursing home, has graciously given us a place to practice. We are continuing to work on "The Dragon", which is a fun group dance. We have also been continuing to practice "Boot Scootin' Boogie" (Brooks and Dunn), which is a Texas Line dance. We have started learning another Texas Line dance, "Bit By Bit". It is VERY fast.
